Summary: 2005-08-02 03:44:00 Dark Side was clearly their best effort. While I revered David Gilmore I was never a real big fan of thier stuff. I thought of it as "art rock" and the only one that compared and did as well was Rush. Art rock just did not get me off as much as "hard rock" ie..Aerosmith and Montrose comes to mind. This was more my thing. It would not make my top ten.

Summary: 2007-03-09 06:23:00 About the only post Barrett Floyd album I can listen to as it isnt anywhere near as bombastic and pretentious as 'Dark side..' , 'Animals' and 'The wall'. Not really a prog album in the perjorative sense, which is a plus.

Summary: 2005-07-25 09:50:00 This was the Floyds greatest album. The band had not yet begun to bicker and it wasnt as expiramental as their other albums. The mix of music and lyrics were just right unlike dark side of the moon wich relied to heavily on lyrics.

Summary: 2005-06-05 09:36:00 It pains me to give these guys anything less than a 5, but this wasn't their best album. The production value, as always, was phenomenal.Pink Floyd was one of the few bands from that era that recorded their stuff in "QuadraPhonic Sound", which was an early form of surround sound stereo seperation. Which contributed to that "spacious ambience" heard in their music.
