Strengths: second best PF record
Weaknesses: none
Summary: the wall is the best selling pink floyd album ( over 22milion sold) i think it has a lot of negative energy because it was made in times were it was all true , the berlin war , people were scared of atomic wars, comunists. i think this album is very melodic . people only listen to this album for the music but it has a great meaning every song has its meanings for example the hapiest days of our lives tells us aout teachers who treat them like slaves and make them suffer as much as possible. but another meaning is that people get jobs which they arent qualified. The main meaning of this album is that not everyone takes the same words the same for example person 1 seay f*** you to person 2 and person 3 person 2 can have a nervous break down while person 3 can just say well F*** you TOO AS*HOL*!! All in all your just another brick in the wall!!!!!!!

Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: 2003-09-03 00:00:00 "The Wall" is essential for any Pink Floyd fan; however, it is full of the excesses of Roger Waters as this release is basically a rock opera. However, "The Wall" (released in 1979) does include some of Pink Floyd's most notable songs including "Another Brick In The Wall" (parts 1-3), "Young Lust", "Hey You", "Comfortably Numb", and "Run Like Hell". Some of the other better tracks include "Goodbye Blue Sky", and "Empty Spaces".

Summary: 2003-09-03 00:00:00 The majority of this album reminds me of huge amounts of negativity, which I do not need or would I recommend to someone else. It is a big downer, and I think rock and roll should be all about fun. And I would definately say stay away from the movie titled the same. Pure garbage posing as artistic expression. Yuck.

Summary: 2003-11-26 00:00:00 "The Wall" is a complete exercise in self-indulgence. We are supposed to believe that the protagonist of these overproduced dirges is the only person on the planet who has ever felt depressed and alienated. Surprise! Millions of people feel this way-that's why God invented antidepressants. Listen to this record in an intoxicated state, and you will find it a revelation.

Summary: 2007-06-13 09:40:00 A masterpiece, artistically and musically, and easily the most depressing, numbing collection of songs ever assembled on an album.  Roger Waters apparently felt the need to put his own personal pyschotherapy session to music, and while the end result is genius, I for one prefer something a little more upbeat to listen to.

Summary: 2006-07-20 06:35:00 I wish I couldve seen the wall live...I saw Pink Floyd later without Waters and it was still a great show...but back the album. It was genious really. Ok so Waters was a little self pitying, he had a tough childhood and it made for good rock music!!!

Summary: 2006-03-27 07:40:00 This album is a complete masterpeice. Without any conventional diologue it succesfully tells the story of a drugged out-burnt out musician, his construction of a symbolic wall around his feelings brick by painful brick, his gradual descent into the nightmares of the darkest recceses of his mind, climactic inner trial, and rebirth as a new person with a greater understanding of himself. Yes, it's depressing, but no it does not suggest that the hero (or anti hero as some think) is the only person to ever feel depressed and alienated. Quite the opposite actually. We aren't really supposed to sympathize with him since he does ask himself if he "has been guilty all this time" and some of his wounds are self inflicted. The last song on the album is a departure from the main character that adresses the listener. It says quietly (and almost inaudably)"alone or in twos/ the ones who really love you/walk up and down outside the wall" and eventually "...when they've given you their all/some stagger and fall/ after all it ain't easy/ banging your heart against some mad buggers wall". The message is not to isolate oneself from ones feelings (and in the process from the people you care about) which is really a universal message. Call it pretentious, call it gloomy, but it's still something to think about.
