Summary: 2007-03-27 03:24:00 I think its reputation exceeds itself, but what album could live up to its billing as the Record that Saved Rock and Roll.  Still, it is a great album with a massive sound and sense of vision.  And it is relatively unique, it's not of its time but its not timeless, it stood out in 1975 as a big bold ballsy blast of bravado, and it would have the same impact today.  Wisely Sprinsteen didn't attempt to replicate with Born to Run II.

Summary: 2006-01-26 11:33:00 Perhaps the best, most fully realized album this pompous blowhard ever barfed up. The material isn't too bad, even though the little dwarf does go for the most shopworn and predictable musical ideas possible. I grew up in a much tougher area of Jersey than this phoney baloney poseur did (The Wuss, despite his inane and unconvincing posturing as a Jersey Hitter, actually hid out in the security of his parents' house in the bland and unthreatening deep suburbs while he was a teenager.), so I could never buy into that Garden State romanticism nonsense he was always farting out. Always struck me as totally disingenuous, artificial, non-existent, ersatz, artistically dishonest. Well, listen to this album today (a newly re-engineered version is in current release) and you'll discover that it sounds like music from the Stone Age. Poor Brucie. Releases his magnus opus less than a year before punk rock/new wave hit the public's attention, thereby stealing the shrimpy little midget's thunder. Compare this record to what The Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, The Clash, etc. were doing just a few months later, and Brucie's efforts come up like Amateur Night. "Born With The Runs" is more like it.

Summary: 2005-10-24 03:33:00 THE BOSS can really kick out a tune. Much more so than today's rock artists ever will. A great classic album from a classic singer. It proudly resides in a place of great honor in the LIBRIS MUSICA IGNACIO.

Summary: 2004-06-28 00:00:00 I guess fat, uneducated beer swilling white trash need musicians to look up to. Give Bruce his due, he found a market of low foreheads that like his labored ballads and cheesy rocker tunes and made a career out of appealing to them by coming across as one of them. They say his shows are great but all I saw was a tired, obviously rehearsed act that did little to hide the low quality of his music.

Summary: 2003-06-09 00:00:00 Born To Run beats the trite Born In The USA all to hell and back. Wonderful record!! Get this, Darkness On The Edge Of Town, The River, Nebraska, The Ghost Of Tom Joad and you've pretty much got The Boss covered.

Summary: 2003-05-27 00:00:00 Simply the greatest thing mankind has ever produced. It was make or break for Bruce and he made it. Every song on here is a classic, Born to Run, Thunder Road, Backstreets, Jungleland, 10th Avenue Freezeout, She's the One, and Night. From beginning to end, from when the screen door slams, to when the rangers have a homecoming, this is the quintessential rock n' roll album.
