Summary: 2000-12-28 00:00:00 I was expecting some silly teeny-bopper candyass wannabe. What I heard was a voice that was insanely more mature than Apple's less thantwenty years. Herlyrics are really quite exceptional. Tidal had tons of soul to spare. I didn't think nearly as muchof When ThePawn..., but Limp was an excellent song. I'm very curious to see if she can overcome the senselessbacklash that hasassaulted her. If you don't have her debut CD "Tidal" and the only Fiona Apple referenceyou have is herstrange speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, give her a chance. What is she, 19 years old orsomething? Herpotential is truly impressive, and I'm hoping she puts her talent to good use. I think she has a lot of potential also. I love her alto. She is young andmay have put herfoot in her mouth a couple of times in public but some of us know what it's like to have something thatwe feel ispersonally important to say but somehow fumble over the words to try to get it out and unfortunatleyembarrass ourselves.I think introverted (ie artists) tend to understand this. Maybe if she had turned those thoughts into a songit would havebeen more successful. And yes, she is attractive but come on boys, let's give her some credit andstop judging her andother women by her body and "hot" rating! Fiona is one of my favorites. If you hate her, you should listen to hersongs. She is verytalented... seriously!! Listen to Tidal, and you will love her. At least no hate her. The album "When the Pawn..." is an exceptional work. She is truly atalented musician,but moreso, a talented poet. Buy this album! I bet she would like to take back her MTV Awards Ceremony rant. She's really skinny, but she's hot. she bores me. ewwwwww! I don't think so! Will someone please tell me why she is so angry?I just don'tget it. sultry voice and intelligent lyrics, but her raging dysfunctionalpersonality is gettingannoying I am so impressed w/the keen graphics. Summary: 2000-12-20 00:00:00 I really believe that this CD is for those who value stong, meaningful lyrics. It's certainly not a "party" CD, but it is best listened to on a rainy day or long bus ride. I find I enjoy this CD the most when I'm in a relaxed, pensive mood. Apple goes from really fast, mixed beats, like in her "Fast As You Can" track, to her sullen yet hopeful track of "Crowbar." My favorite line on the whole CD is in the song, that I think is titled, "Not Baby Anymore" and she says, "nobody sees when you are lying in your bed and I wanna' crawl in with you, I want your warmth but it will only make me colder when it's over...."
