Strengths: Powerfull music, with a mix of metal and melodic music. Old fans of Underoath may like it. TOCS fans may adapt, and new fans will love it, well forget that, that's why they're fans.
Weaknesses: When you hear this album it will not sound like They're Only Chasing Safety at all. Dissapointing for TOCS fans, like me at the beginning, but adapt and see the truth
Summary: This is Underoath's most powerfull album released to date i think.

1.In Regards to Self

9/10

The album starts of with In Regards to Self, Spencer screaming better then any song in their last album by the first 15 seconds, one of the heaviest songs, yet still very likeable.

|

2.A Moment Suspended in Time

8/10

This is a good song, with Aaron making some appearences now and then, and its one of the catchiest songs in the album. This is one of the few songs that has some elements from TOCS.

3.There Could be Nothing After This

9/10

Another good song. Specially good when Aaron and Spencer sing "This is, for you and your hopeless case, you never would leave me in your wish to fail every time" Nice stuff.

|

4. You're ever so inviting

8/10

Average song. Good vocals, melody and lyrics.

|

5. Salmamir

7/10

Some techno song with a Russian guy talking in the background. This song is sort of the same thing as The BLue Note, but only longer.

|

6. Returning Empty Handed

10/10

Personally one of my favourite songs. Awsome guitars with a good riff that fit in good with Spencers killer screams- that's the first half of the song, in the middle everything slows down, Aaron sings for a little, followed by Spencer singing/screaming followed by a total tempo change from the first half and what i think is one of the most powerfull moments of the album. Exellent end.

7. Casting such a thing Shadow

10/10

Another of my favourites. It may start a little soft, with the pianos and things, but after the intro (1:23) from there on, there's some really good melodic guitars that gave me goosebumps. AFter what seems of an instrumental that takes forever at 3:49 Spencer finally starts screaming with singing in the background. Following comes some powerfull screaming with powerfull lyrics ("Not too much to overcome, with enough, time, to turn it all around. In a picture perfect, scenery, I've become, a stick figure illustration!! My eyes roll back and focus on what's ahead. I can still stand, if you lend the hand to brace me. I'll take this on my own... I'll take this on, my, own, I'll take this on.") Then the song ends exactly how it started. Great mix between metal and melody.

8. Moving For The Sake of Motion

9/10

This song starts of like any song you hear on the radio now a days but quickly gets the Underoath in it...to make..a good ..Underoath song? lol well Yeah. This song has good lyrics ("Brace yourself!!! Right now! Lights out! I'm not breathing. I can't keep swimmingg, can't keep my head up!")I love that ending.

|

9. Writing on the walls

9/10

I don't have much to say for this song. It's pretty good. ...Yeah. Good.

|

10. Everyone Looks So Good From Up Here

11/10

I don't really know why but i LOVE THIS SONG! It's pretty heavy i guess, the beginning specially, but mann, this song really shows the potential of the band at it's best. This is a personal opinion, you might not think the same, but i can't get enough of the song. The only part i don't like is the very end, it shouldn't be there, it's the part that sound exactly like the beginning, it messes up the part right before ("this is so, unfamiliar to ME!! (to me!!)") where the tempo changed dramatically from the rest of the song, but yeah i think this song is a work of art along with Casting such a Thing Shadow and Returning Empty Handed.
