TRIPPING THE LIVE FANTASTIC is the live album that McCartney's fans had always hoped he'd make. Recorded during McCartney's '89-'90 world tour, TRIPPING THE LIVE FANTASTIC delivers a perfect mix of Beatles tracks, previously unrecorded songs and McCartney's solo hits. Backed by a band that was probably the best group of musicians that he had worked with since The Beatles, McCartney dazzles with high-power performances that range from the anthemic "Hey Jude" and "Let It Be" to gutsy rock and roll like The Beatles' "Birthday" and a rousing version of Fats Domino's "Ain't That A Shame." With wonderful surprises like McCartney's nostalgic version of (fellow '60s Liverpool band) Gerry and the Pacemakers "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying," TRIPPING THE LIVE FANTASTIC offers everything you could want from a live album.
