The second album by punk revivalists Billy Talent finds the Ontario quartet following through on the excitement generated by their debut and dedicated touring schedule. Obliterating any hint of a sophomore slump, 2006's II assaults the listener with guitars, drums, bass, and vocals so amped up it seems the stereo can barely hold it all in. The band easily distinguishes itself from the legions of punk-pop acts on the market with intriguing twists of hardcore and prog-metal flavoring, but their tight structures and melody-focused accessibility are always front and center, proving Billy Talent a band to be reckoned with.
