| Album Description | |
| They Might Be Giants: John Flansburgh, John Linnell. Personnel: John Flansburgh (vocals, guitar); John Linnell (vocals, keyboards); Eric Schermerhorn, Dan John Miller (guitar); Jim O'Connor (trumpet); Dan Levine (trombone, tuba); Yuval Gabay, Robin "Goldie" Goldwasser, Dan Hickey, Brian Doherty (drums). Additional personnel: Dan Miller (guitar); Graham Maby, Danny Weinkauf (bass guitar); Robin "Goldie" Goldwasser (background vocals); Dan Levine , Eric Schermerhorn, Yuval Gabay, Dan Hickey, Brian Doherty , Jim O'Connor . Audio Mixers: Patrick Dillett; Albert Caiati. While They Might Be Giants spent much of the early 2000s crafting children's albums (2002's NO! and 2005's HERE COME THE ABCs) and compiling career retrospectives (2002's DIAL-A-SONG and 2005's A USER'S GUIDE TO...), the Brooklyn-based duo also took the time to assemble a rarities collection, appropriately titled THEY GOT LOST. The disc serves as a sequel to TMBG's earlier odds-and-ends set (1991's MISCELLANEOUS T), and showcases a wide variety of non-album tracks, from the rocked-out "Rest Awhile" and the classically inclined keyboard workout "Theme to McSweeney's" (a nod to the ever-cheeky literary magazine) to the absurdist sing-along "Token Back to Brooklyn." Although this is a must-have compilation for longtime fans, newcomers to TMBG's quirky, egg-headed pop-rock will be equally entertained. |
